Ecademi Seminars: Making Sense of Serial Murder with Professor David Wilson
The first event in our "Working with Violent Offenders" seminar series entitled Making Sense of Serial Murder with Professor David Wilson. The UK's leading criminologist, Professor David Wilson hosts this online session and explores the phenomenon of serial murder. Having worked with some of the most notorious serial killers in British history, Professor Wilson is uniquely positioned to discuss the causes and consequences of their criminal behaviour. During the session, David will guide the audience through the main theoretical explanations of serial murder, arguing against the dominant "medico-psychological" model and in favour of a "structural approach". The recording of this event will be of value to the general public with an interest in crime, students of criminology/psychology/sociology and also professionals working in the criminal justice sector. This event was recorded on 9th December 2024.
